In the elegant and relaxed setting of the Tasting Gallery, guests can sample a range of seven slow-crafted wines while learning about the unique, minimal-intervention winemaking process, which respects and works in harmony with nature.

FABER represents the synergy of two craftsmen, namely chef Dale Stevens and Avondale’s proprietor Johnathan Grieve, who aim to take visitors on an inspirational, thought-provoking journey that celebrates the bountiful goodness of nature.
In line with Avondale’s well-established ethos, as the pioneer of premium organic and biodynamic South African wines, FABER is a responsible sustainability-driven restaurant focused on supporting organic, free range and low carbon producers.
FABER is set in a classic and gracious Old Cape-style building set against the backdrop of the Klein Drakenstein Range. The veranda overlooks vineyards and sweeping valley views punctuated by Paarl Rock, the silhouette of Table Mountain and the Simonsberg.
On cooler days, there’s no better place to enjoy a glass of Avondale red wine than next to the open fireplace.
