Who We Are
Welcome to our home
Founded decades ago, the Paarl Wine Route was recently revived when members recognised the strength that comes from working together - particularly in the wake of the disruption caused by Covid-19. That renewed sense of shared purpose has brought fresh energy to the region, and today the route continues to expand with confidence.
Paarl is made up of distinct pockets, each with its own character and pace. From the Voor-Perdeberg to Simondium and beyond, diversity is part of the region’s fabric, yet a shared identity runs through it. Grenache has emerged as a defining grape for Paarl, reflecting a region known for resilience, adaptability and quiet strength.
At its heart, the Paarl Wine Route represents a broad view of South African wine tourism. Our members are constantly evolving, finding thoughtful ways to innovate while remaining rooted in our history - ensuring the region remains relevant, welcoming and sustainable without losing sight of what makes it distinct.
Long-term investment and careful development across the route point to a future built on both heritage and considered growth. The Paarl Wine Route stands as a collective shaped by collaboration, pride in place, and a belief that the region is strongest when its people move forward together.
Our door is always open - come and see for yourself.

Heritage and Authenticity
The Paarl Wine Route is proud of its role in South Africa’s wine story, and equally excited by the innovation unfolding across the region. The organisation exists to foster cooperation between members, creating a shared space where visitors can discover the depth and character of Paarl through a united lens.
