Babel at Babylonstoren

Housed in the old cowshed, Babel Restaurant is a wonderful mix of Cape Dutch architecture and contemporary glass walls, creating a simple yet edgy environment in which to enjoy creative flavour combinations. It’s the pinnacle of refined farm-to-fork dining - playful at heart, yet deeply respectful of the land’s finest seasonal produce.

Old Bakery at Babylonstoren

A feast of la dolce vita awaits at the Old Bakery, where food is served family style - guests help themselves from wooden boards placed on the table, sipping on wine and soaking up the lively atmosphere. Open for dinner, the Old Bakery Restaurant hosts Italian-inspired feasts and Carnivore Evenings.

ITALIAN EVENINGS | Monday, Tuesday & Friday 18h00

A generous four-course feast of vibrant antipasti, silky handmade pasta, wood-fired pizza with farm-made mozzarella plus a homemade dolce. 

CARNIVORE EVENINGS | Wednesday & Sunday 18h30

Braai masters grill premium Chianina beef, aged for 28 - 42 days, for a theatrical four-course meat experience, ending with a classic South African dessert. 

Greenhouse at Babylonstoren

There is no better place to relax than at the Greenhouse Restaurant, nestled at the rear of the Babylonstoren garden. This charming refreshment station is the perfect stop after a leisurely stroll, loved by guests who enjoy the effortless charm of garden dining.

The menu offers light snacks as well as more substantial meals, including artisanal bread, handcrafted cheese, dressed meats and fresh seasonal salads. Guests are seated on a first-come, first-served basis. No booking is necessary, except for groups of 13 to 25 guests.

Spice House at Babylonstoren

The Babylonstoren Spice House is home to fragrant plants like cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Intimate and evocative of bygone eras in faraway places, it offers a memorable setting for groups of 13 - 24 guests, with a menu inspired by the garden’s own spices.

Old Stables at Babylonstoren

A short shuttle ride from Babylonstoren lies Soetmelksvlei, a 19th century farmyard where the Old Stables Restaurant serves hearty Boland heritage cuisine. Enjoy moerkoffie, homemade ginger beer and oven-fresh scones, a farm breakfast or a bountiful harvest lunch with farm-fresh produce, artisanal breads and traditional dishes from the hearth. In addition to indoor seating, it also has outdoor seating with a view of the children’s play area.

Goatshed at Fairview

Over the past 18 years, Fairview's Goatshed worked hard to perfect a menu of delicious farm style comfort food, award-winning selection of artisanal cheeses and an exciting range of fine wines. 

Everything there is guided by a philosophy that fresh and homemade is always better. They aim to bring the paddock and the farm as close to the table as they can, preparing delicious dishes from scratch and making sure they use as much of the produce as possible with as little waste as they can manage.

The Manor at Nederburg

When visiting the Paarl Wine Route be sure to visit Nederburg's beautifully restored Manor House restaurant. Nederburg, under the guidance of Chef Linda, places special emphasis on authentic and nostalgic food experiences featuring simple yet elegant dishes that honour the South African heritage.

Guests are invited to indulge in flavourful breakfasts, seasonal lunches and superb cheese and charcuterie platters. The sprawling gardens also create an idyllic setting for laidback picnics with loved ones, and a private children’s playground area for the little ones.

Jewells at Spice Route

Celebrated chef and charcuterie whizz Neil Jewell, together with his wife Tina Jewell, are at the helm of this farm-to-table eatery at the Spice Route Destination. The open-kitchen restaurant has comfortable yet sophisticated-country style indoor seating as well as outdoor seating with picturesque views of the Simonsberg Mountains and Table Mountain. As you’d expect, only the best-quality ingredients are used in the dishes, including organic Red Angus beef from Charles Back’s herd, with a regularly updated seasonal menu paired with a selection of Spice Route wines. Guests can also taste Neil’s charcuterie while enjoying a wine tasting at the Spice Route Tasting Room.

La Grapperia at Spice Route

This energising eatery is based at the Spice Route Destination in Suider-Paarl, and pairs bold flavours with sweeping views across the Cape Winelands - and on clear days, you can even spot Table Mountain in the distance. The restaurant now features the trendy, Roman-style Pinsa - perfect for sharing with friends or family over long lunches, early dinners, and special occasions.

Lust Bistro at Vrede en Lust

At the heart of Lust Bistro & Bakery is a traditional, wood-fired hearth where the Chefs conjure up authentic artisanal bread and all manner of delectable daily fare. The venue is open for early breakfast, lunch, pizzas and everything in between. 

The décor is modern and earthy – industrial loft meets the farmhouse kitchen. Choose from the à la carte menu or daily blackboard specials – and don’t forget to pick up something fresh from the bakery counter to take home.

Savoye at Vrede en Lust

Set in the garden of the Manor House, amongst ancient oaks and scampering squirrels, Savoye is a restaurant that caters for relaxing lunches, special dinners shared amongst friends and also provides the perfect venue for celebrations. It is a year-round destination, with two fire places for cosy winter days, and sprawling glass doors that allows guests to take in the spring and summer elements during the warmer months.
